Philosophy of Education
We believe God is the Creator and Designer; therefore His methods and philosophy of instruction and education are the correct and effective approach. We believe each child is an individual created by God with special talents and personality that He desires to use for His glory. JHCA focuses on the uniqueness of each child’s growth, rather than on their performance measured against a group standard. We strive to help the child find his God-given talents and abilities and learn how to apply them in their service to God.
What Makes JHCA Unique as a Christ-Centered School?
We place Jesus Christ as our lead teacher. God, as revealed in His Word, and His Holy Scripture is central to each day’s learning. Therefore, daily subjects reveal Christ as the Creator and Center of all things. Each day begins with prayer and devotion, followed by age-appropriate Bible classes which are foundational to the program.
We follow a Hebrew as opposed to a Greek way of thinking as we begin with God and are responsible to God. God is the only source for wisdom and understanding and not at the feet of educational philosophy and curriculum. (Proverbs 2:2-6, 2:9-13)
We understand God has endowed each student with unique gifts and talents.
We recognize education does not come in a “one-size-fits-all” format. Teachers tailor individual learning experiences which embrace the God-given uniqueness of each student.
We understand our work with students is delegated from the parents; we work to arrange our teaching as an extension of the authority of the home and family.
Our teachers remain with the students year after year which enables them to build long- term relationships. This allows teachers to be invested in their students-- fostering their God-given strengths, devotedly working to improve shortcomings, and working year after year on goals.
